FALL 2015 NAIL POLISH♥

Hey guys! How is your weekend so far? I'm preparing for a pampering night-in as we speak! I know, big plans for Saturday night huh? XD Before we start I wanted to let you know about a special category that I'm hosting here for a month. It's about the "Single girl's 30 day challenge". There is a whole new page about it so go and check it out here, because I think you will be interested! Anyway, I don't want to ramble because I'm too excited for today's post.
If you've followed my blog for a while you probably know that I am a nail polish junkie. A makeup junkie in general, but I have a special place in my heart for nail polish! And new season means new shades!
I don't want to start talking about it but, unfortunately, summer has come to an end! In my opinion, we should all keep our memories inside our hearts and move on with our lives. After all, there are plenty of things to be happy about during the fall. New nail polish is one of them. Use the arrows to watch the slideshow on the top and read my caption for each color family^* Enjoy♥

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN NAIL TUTORIAL(S) x JULEP

Oh boy! This is my 100th post! I simply can't believe it! There are so many things that I want to say about this blog and all the experiences that it has offered me, but I'm waiting until January when it's going to be officially 1 year old!
I can't think of a better way to celebrate this post, than the awesome collab with Julep. As I'm sure you know, Julep is a fab beauty brand widely loved all over the world. If you don't know them yet, just check out their new nail polish color page and I'm sure you'll love them like I do.
In my part of this post, I will show you how to create a fun spooky design on your nails for Halloween. I decided to go for a goth, zombie kind of thing. I think it really sets you in the mood.
Step 1:
Apply base coat and dye your nails with black polish. I used the black one from Seventeen (or Julep's "Jet"). Apply twice for a bolder result.
Step 2:
After the black coat dries, take a white polish and create a big dot in the middle of your nail. Make sure that the dot is not too thick otherwise it will take forever to dry. I used "Winter White" by Maybelline (or Julep's "Dana"-extra points since it gets electric blue under black light- super spooky).
Step 3:
Use the brush tips and extend from the dot to create the jaw. Basically a tiny square. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Step 4:
After the head of your skull dries, use the same black nail polish we used in the beginning to create two ellipses for the eyes, a smaller and a larger one. Use the top of your black brush on the jaw to create the illusion of teeth. Let the details dry.
Step 5:
Use a dark red polish to add some blood. Be creative! I wanted blood coming out of the eyes and the mouth and then I thought it would be nice to have blood falling on the skull from the tip of my nail. I used "Red Seduction" by Maybelline (or Julep's "Anisha").

Step 6:
Use the tip of your brush to create red or white scars and maybe add some more blood at the rest of the nails.

Step 7:
Finish with top coat and you are done!

Your nails can be shaped however you like, to achieve this look. I like mine in the rounded square shape. I didn't use any special tools to create this, just the regular brushes of each polish. You can use a toothpick though if you find it hard to do it with the brush.

And now, for the Julep's part of the post, they send me and exclusive Halloween nail tutorial, just for you guys! How amazing is that? It's obviously much more professional than my design and super fun to do. Enjoy!
I believe that this collab was a perfect fit for my 100th post, since I don't believe that any of my readers are not nail junkies. I know I am!
I hope you guys enjoyed this extra special exclusive post. If you decide to recreate any of these two I would love to see it, so please post a photo on instagram and tag me @helena_tsk and Julep @julepmaven
Don't forget to check out Julep's page www.julep.com and to visit my blog again for more posts like this one.
Have an awesome weekend!

ESSIE SUMMER 2014

If you've visited my blog before, you probably know my addiction to lippies and nail polishes. I just need to have more and more and new colors keep coming out. Of course I don't buy all the things I crave, so the only thing I can do is daydream. I'm a big fan of essie nail polishes and their new Summer 2014 and Neons 2014 collections are absolutely addictive. I must admit that I prefer the neons for summer. All the colors are great and I simply can't pick a favorite. The beige(Urban Jungle) from the first collection, is so chic and you can totally wear it all year long.
The weather is finally warm and sunny here and with the correct accessories(nail polish is an accessory, I've told you before!) you can barely smell the summer approaching. It doesn't matter that we need to stay in the city and do really boring stuff that require hard work. We can always stay in fashion and keep it cool and stylish!
I can work on my blog, read great books, drink cold juices and tea, sketch, hang with friends and you can do all the stuff that make you happy in order to cope easily with your other obligations!
Here are the new Essie eye-candy shades for this summer! Enjoy!
Summer 2014
(haute in the heat, fierce no fear, roar orange, ruffles and feathers, strut your stuff, urban jungle)

Neons 2014
(i'm addicted, chills and thrills, serial shopper, vices versa, too taboo, sittin pretty)

NAILS,NAILS,NAILS!

You've probably got what today's post is about. NAILS! Well, nail polishes, to be precise. If you asked my friends two months ago, they would all tell you that I ALWAYS have a different color on my nails. Some of you might have noticed that this is not the situation on the photos I upload here. A couple of weeks ago, even though I was using base coat, my nails were really damaged and weak and kept breaking. This is why I decided not to use any polish(apart from the transparent shiny one) for some time. And it worked! My nails are starting to look better and stronger day by day, getting ready for the awesome springtime colors.
I absolutely adore nail polishes! I consider them as an accessory that, just like clothing, is related with my mood. Sometimes, in the middle of summer I feel like doing black nails and during winter I'm craving a bright shade. When I saw all the new colors for SS14 I was so thrilled-I literally want every single one of them. Lately, I'm having a huge baby blue addiction(I keep searching for the perfect baby blue boyfriend coat-any suggestions?), but this doesn't stop me from falling in love with the rest. Everything is so perfect and inspiring, the pastels, the vivid ones, the neon...all sexy, chic and feminine. As always, I'm proposing both the affordable and the more pricey choices, it's all up to you. Have fun with them! I think we all love ^!and deserve!^ a good manicure! What are your favorite shades for SS14?
